Canaima Gran Sabana

1 Day 1 - Caracas / Puerto Ordaz

Arrival to Caracas, local flight to Puerto Ordaz. Transfer to 3* hotel.

2 Day 2 - Canaima

Early morning transfer 1 h to airport in Ciudad Bolivar, flight by 5 persons aviettes or small plane to lagoon in Canaima National Park. The lagoon is surrounded by jungle, El Sapo and El Sapito waterfalls  dropping into it, sandy beach and moriche palms. Place is habited by Indians Pemon. Transfer to the boat station, from where we begin a tour by Carraro and Churun rivers up to the camp deeply in the jungle with view on Salto Angel waterfall. Having lunch on the way under a small waterfall, possible to take a bath. In the afternoon getting to the camp. Dinner. That night we sleep in hammocks. Conditions - survival.

3 Day 3 - Canaima

After breakfast we leave luggage in tha camp and walk thru the jungle, next climb to the view point around 800 m high on Salto Angel. Going down to natural swimming pool at foot of Salto Angel, where we can swim. Coming back to the camp where we left our luggage, lunch. In the afternoon we start coming back by boats to the lagoon. Accommodations in rooms with private showers. Dinner.

4 Day 4 - Canaima - Santa Elena

Flight from Canaima to Santa Elena – only one town isolated at Gran Sabana region at the borders with Brasil. Passionate view from the aviette or small plane for the lost world: tepuy table mountains covered partially by clouds, jungle, rivers and giant hills of Gran Sabana. Transfer to the tropical ecolodge where we stay in rooms with private bathrooms. Place to walk 25 ha jungle, fruit plantation, flowery garden. The same day short tour to Brasilian town for shoppings. Very economic purchase of hammocks, sandals, Indian handcrafts.

5 Dzień 5 - Gran Sabana

After breakfast jeep safari deeply into Gran Sabana. We stop at the view point on jurrasic park, next stop Jaspe waterfall – cascade build from natural red and black stone going into the forest for over 100m. We go to the Indian village San Francisco, there 60 m wide curtains of Yuruani waterfall. Next stop at Soroape waterfall – perfect place for swimming in natural pools, laying down in rocky mesas with strong water bubbles like jacuzzi, standing under shower of waterfall. Here having lunch and spending all afternoon. On the way back famous view point on Roraima and Kukenan highest tepui, place which inspired Arthur Conan Doyle for writing a book ‘The Lost World’.  Coming back to Santa Elena. Night bus to Puerto Ordaz.

6 Day 6 - Margarita or continuation to Delta Orinoco


Transfer from bus station  to the airport in Puerto Ordaz and flight to Margarita. Transfer to Playa el Agua. Accommodation in luxury apartment 150m from the beach in Playa el Agua (or hotel all inclusive) or continue the tour to Delta Orinoco.

For those who continue to Delta Orinoco - transfer to boat terminal from where we navigate deeply into narrow canals of Delta Orinoco. It will take us 1 h. We arrive to very cozy and beautiful lodge Abujene with palm huts on sticks (palafitos style) with cold shower and toilet, we are surrounded by wild nature of rain forest. Lunch time. After siesta we take a walk into jungle, our Indian guide will present us different medicine plants, give us a short lesson of survival in the jungle. Next we take a boat and slowly go by canals of delta to watch nature. We will see river dolphins (toninas), parrots, toucans, monkeys, will be fishing piranhas. Beautiful sunset in the middle of the river. Coming back to lodge around 18:00 pm for dinner.

7 Day 7- Margarita  or return from Delta Orinoco to Margarita

Margarita or for those who are in Delta Orinoco - after breakfast we visit the village of Indians Warrao to see their lives style and buy some handcrafts. Next we get to the boat terminal. We continue our journey into direction of Maturin, flight to Porlamar, transfer to Playa el Agua. Accommodation in luxury apartment in Playa el Agua 150m from the beach or hotel all inclusive.

8 Day 8- Margarita

 Free time.

9 Day 9 - Margarita

Free time.

10 Day 10 up to day 13 - Margarita

Free time.

14 Day 14 - Margarita - Caracas

Transfer to airport in Porlamar, fligth to Caracas

Price includes:
  1. Flights by aviette, local airplanes (without airport taxes around USD 10 each and Canaima national park entrance around USD 15)

  1. 100% payment  by bank transfer at least 14 days before tour in low season, 35 days in high season.

Attendance confirmation

The group will consist of up to 14 persons, the list of attendees will be closed when enough people collected usually 2 weeks before departure date. 
Each of tourist should read the rules of attendance attached to the section of expeditions

Standard of our hotels

We book venezuelan 3* hotels in the cities, touristic standard and venezuelan 3* ecolodges in Delta, Canaima, Gran Sabana.  In Canaima one night  in hamoock among wild nature, conditions - survival.  On Margarita Island, Playa Agua hotel 3* all inclusive (3 meals per day in a form of open bar, local alcohol and cold drinks at hotel bar and beach bar, sunbeds an sun towels). Majority of hotels, posadas guarantee soap, towels, but you need your own towel in Canaima jungle.

Equipment and clothes

Recommended sport clothes, comfortable hiking shoes, sandals to walk in rivers, hats protecting arms and neck from the sun, cotton clothes covering all body, blouse for a night, rain jacket, sun protection with high factor 45-60, insect repellents, basic medicines/first help aid, torch, small bag for 2 days. Plastic bag to protect camera and bag from water.

Vaccines

In Venezuela not required but recommended hepatitis A+B, typhoid fever, tetanus toxoid + diphtheria, yellow fever certificate obligatory to cross the Brasilian border. 

Visa

Not required, passport valid at least 6 months.
