Los Llanos Anaconda
1Day 1 - Caracas - Puerto Colombia
Transfer from airport or hotel in Caracas around 3-4 h to Puerto Colombia. This is a lovely fisherman village in colonial style, very nice restaurants serving seafood. Accommodation in hotel. Free time.
2Day 2 - Choroni / Henri Pittier National Park
This day we visit old, colonial town Choroni and Henri Pittier Nationa Park. Here we admire wildlife and landscape of tropical forest. In the afternoon free time to go for a beach Playa Grande.
3Day 3 - Puerto Colombia / Morrocoy National Park
In the morning we spend a time on the beach. In the afternoon we go around 5 h to Morrocoy National Park, to the seaside village Chichiriviche. Accommodation in posada.
4Day 4 - Morrocoy National Park
We take a boat and visit different unhabitted islands and cave with prehistoric drawings. We spend here all day. Return to posada for the night.
5Day 5 - Medanos Dezert Coro
Transfer to Coro surroundings to Medanos dezert. we walk here for a while and go to centre the colonial city Coro. Accommodation in stylish Spanish style posada.
6Day 6 - Coro / Merida
In the morning we walk at colonial old town of Coro, visit museum, free time. Night bus to Merida.
7Day 7 - Merida / Jaji
Transfer to posada. Free time. In the afternoon we go to Jaji - lovely colonial village 40 km from Merida. Here we spend all afternoon. Coming bach to posada before night.
8Day 8 - Los Nevados
The tour follows a circular route, beginning with a 4 to 5 hour jeep trip on an 'exciting' (ie. narrow with sharp bends and steep inclines) road from Merida to Los Nevados via El Morro. Los Nevados is a beautiful small village set deep in the Andes and separated from Mérida by Pico Toro (4755m), Pico Leon (4740), Pico Bolivar (5007m). Access by foot, by horse, or by 4 wheel drive vehicles. This night we spend in very cozy posada in the middle of the village.
9Day 9 - Los Nevados
In the morning we go for a 4 hours ride, going through the typical vegetation of the Andes, from 2700 meters up to the 4200 meters. After 2 hours walking down hill will get to a rustic farmhouse where we spend a night.
10Day 10 - Los Nevados Merida
4-5 hours downhill hiking through the cloudy forest with a beautiful view of Merida and the Sierra La Culata. Pick up by a jeep in Mucunutan and after 40 min getting to Merida to posada.
11Day 11 - Los Llanos Apure state
7-8 hours transfer by land to Los Llanos plains to Apure state. Accommodation in Hato El Cedral, a beautiful cattle ranch near the town of Mantecal. Accommodation in comfortable rooms with private bathrooms. There is a spectacular wildlife. Approximately 340 species of birds have been identified like Herons, Egrets, Storks, Ibises, Black-bellced Ducks, Hoatzins, Scarlet Macaws and Orinoco Geese. A vast quantity of mammals and reptiles can be seen like Crab-eating Fox, Giant Anteaters, White tailed Deer, Red howler Monkeys, Pink Dolphins, Pumas and Jaguar. Among the reptiles most frequently seen are Cocodriles, Caimans and Anacondas or water snakes. During a stay here we will be going for early morning and late afternoons wildlife watch. During a day – siesta time in hammocks.
12Day 12 - Los Llanos Apure

13Day 13 - Los Llanos - Caura
Transfer to Rio Caura to the hidden place in the midst of the rain forest, on the Caura River banks. This is comfortable, cozy lodge with huts in Indian style with wonderfull view on the river cut by huge granit rocks and islands. We get here before night.
14Day 14 - Caura river
Full day trip to the Cerro Cancrejo and the Indian villages.
This is a boat tour upriver into untouched jungle areas, where you find only small Indian villages along the river. We will stop at one of those villages to learn the process of the production of Casabe, the typical Indian bread.
We continue by boat, an after passing through several smaller rapids, we arrive at the starting point for the hike up to Cerro Cangrejo. We will hike approx. 2 hours uphill through the jungle. On the way we have the possibility to see the most diverse plants such as Orquids, Bromelias, the Chinin tree and the Vanilla plant.
Finally, we will arrive at an enormous rock, with a beautiful view of the dark-green, untouched jungle and the river. With some luck we might observe multicolored Aras and Toucans. Return to the Lodge for the overnight.
15Day 15 - Caura river / Ciudad Bolivar
Laguna de Chuapo. A 15 minutes boat ride to a variety of lagoons, which are in the flooded area of the Caura. A short jungle walk, where we can appreciate the huge differences to the tropical forest. In the lagoon are alligators, which normally can be easily observed lying on the lagoon banks. Also her we will find a rich bird world, over parrots, grey and white herons, Kormoranes etc. In the rain time, this jungle walk can not be done. Return to the Caura Lodge for lunch and afterwards we will be driven back to Ciudad Bolivar around 4 hours. This is colonial city with beautiful old town. Overnight in hotel.
16Day 16 - Ciudad Bolivar/Kavac
Flight from Ciudad Bolivar to Kavac Indian village. Here we hike to the beautiful gorge and waterfall. For a night we stay in the Indian camp in rooms with private bathrooms.
17Day 17 - Kavac/Canaima
Comment: excusions schedule in Canaima depends on current weather conditions and suits accordingly by guides.
Flight to Canaima, we walk to the boat station, from where we start a tour up of Carrao and Churun rivers deeply in the jungle. Tour takes around 4 hours but all depends on weather, in dry season can be even 6-7 hours. Accommodation in the hammocks camp at the banks of the river.
18Day 18 - Salto Angel
In the morning we walk into the jungle to the view point on Salto Angel. Also we take a bath in the natural swimming pool at feet of Salto Angel. We come back for a night to Canaima lagoon camp where we sleep in rooms with private bathrooms.
19Day 19 - Canaima / Ciudad Bolivar
This day in the morning a short tour to waterfalls – El Sapo, Salto Hacha and going under courtin of waterfall (depends on water level and strength ). Before noon flight to Ciudad Bolivar. Accommodation in the hotel.
20Day 20 - Ciudad Bolivar / Caracas
Morning flight from Ciudad Bolivar to Caracas or Margarita or Los Roques.

Attendence confirmation
The group will consist of up to 10 persons, the list of attendees will be closed when enough people collected usually 2 weeks before departure date.

Equipment and Clothes
Recommended sport clothes, comfortable hiking shoes, sandals to walk in water, hats protecting arms and neck from the sun, cotton clothes covering all body, blouse for a night, rain jacket, sun protection with high factor 45-60, insect repellents, basic medicines/first help aid, torch, small bag for whole day tour.
Standard of hotels
All hotels are clean and estetic decorated with private bathrooms. At Los Llanos we sleep in hammocks
Vaccines
In Venezuela not required but recommended hepatitis A+B, typhoid fever, tetanus toxoid + diphtheria, yellow fever certificate obligatory to cross the Brasilian border.
