Rain season starts with explosion of lives. Tornado of termites fly out of soil in the evening and thousand of them direct into the light. Next day morning all their wings are cleaned by busy ants. Walls of buidings are sticked with huge brown night butterflies. Fat frogs sit in line close to walls and delight in easy dinner. Delicate thin frogs with beautiful big black eyes and rounded toes get inside of house. Unfortunately, we are visited also by fur spiders a little smaller then tarantula. Army of black big ants cut precisely leafs and make a fixed path in the garden.
One kind of bird likes particularly wholes with electric cables in our house. He built there his nest and one windows has to be open all the time during a night till his babies are able to fly away. Wild cat gave a birth on a palm roof of the bar last night as this is only one place where the dog will not try to play with her. Horses go into jungle for all day as old mango trees have plenty of mature fruit. Baby toucan brought by the Indian gets blue color around his eyes and black feathers but still cannot keep balance on tree branch, his back part of body is too heavy.
Comparing to baby parrot who was born the same time as him and already eats alone and have full green feathers he is still totally dependent on us. When season changes, we are surprised with different, new voices of the jungle. All new lives appears with start of rain season. How long it will take us to recognize all of them – I guess it will be interesting part of living here…
